As the writer and editor the intent of this story was to facilitate the notion of collective cognitive dissonance. Drawing inspiration from humanity's self-obsession and our addiction to technology. We, like Jules are born into a system much larger than ourselves. As curiosity uncovers our ignorance, we are confronted with the flaws in our fantasy. Ironically, now more than ever we are aware of the implications our actions cause to all life on this planet, yet remain trapped in the very fictions that destroy it.
QUINTESSENCE is a film that was born from strife. A character confined to their quarters only to experience the world through a digital lens, this year and its struggles have influenced our story beyond measure. Our goal is to bring attention to pressing environmental issues through a situation that, while now familiar to us all, is yet to be extensively explored through creative storytelling.
