Beach Safety signage
Bachelor of Design with Honours
I set out to create a universally recognisable set of semiotics that facilitate the identification of rip currents, to allow beachgoers to take charge of their own safety whilst swimming outside of lifeguard hours, or outside of patrolled areas, in order to reduce NZ’s preventable drowning toll. In order for my semiotics to stand out among the mess of existing signage at Wellington's coastal areas, I collated the existing information and designed a hierarchy-centred modular system for it all.
