Inner City Listening

A conversation with the City

Bachelor of Design with Honours

The city is overloaded with a disparate soundscape that provides urban city dwellers with a weak auditory experience. Inner City Listening is a key investigation into augmenting sonic environments, through the use of sculptural, visual, architectural and sonic stimuli. This project conceptualises the array of city sounds as the voice of the city. InnerCity Listening creates a sonic environment in which air vents and other sound objects emit their inner voice, abstracting the cacophony of sounds emitted by the city’s aural components.
