This project aims to ‘re-colour’ perceptions of the abandoned Gordon Wilson Flats, once an iconic example of optimistic local modernism. Research into the history of the building has shown that the now derelict and vandalised property was once colourful and cared for, with a sense of community. The project proposes stripping back to the concrete shell, and re-envisioning the original two-story maisonette flats as a branded system of prefabricated modules.
