Robbie Pattinson is a multi-faceted sonic artist whose work lies in between the worlds of music production, performance, luthiery and mechatronics. His current focus is the construction of the FerroChord; a novel musical instrument which focuses on the synthesis of electromagnetic string excitation with mechatronic tuning systems. The FerroChord unifies Robbie’s background as an instrumentalist with his interface design practise; creating a novel, yet familiar, piece of performance hardware.
