'Volsunga' explores the dichotomy of Apollonian and Dionysian influence on character design within a science fiction adaptation of the Norse myth. Nietzsche suggests that Dionysian experiences can benefit cultural physique. This research explores how the Apollonian and Dionysian can be visually represented through character archetypes, and how this dual relationship can influence design methodologies. The works question whether presenting character design as a Dionysian artistic experience works of art can provide an additional layer of emotional engagement with the designs.
