My final BFA project aims to capture the messy informalities of everyday life, celebrating awkward moments through portraiture. The works on show challenge historical notions that portrait paintings should always be formally posed and highly rendered. The making process has also been significant.
My practice has become increasingly personal, painting close friends and fellow students. I hope to extend my practice to include commissioned pieces after university.
